Her father, Frank Cellon had ordered serum form Jacksonville to be delivered by train to Starke. He and his daughter, Ruby Cellon Jamerson, my grandmother, met the train in Starke to deliver the serum to Mae hoping to help her through this dreaded disease. Sadly, Mae died as they were in route to Ft. White to deliver it to her. Mae was only 22 years old. Adrian is still living. Margery was adopted out and my cousin Gail and I still search for her.
    • Truman, Ruby and Mae Cellon abt. 1905
      • Truman, Ruby and Mae Cellon were the children of Frank (Buddy) and Jane Polk Cellon. Buddy and Jane ran a store on Archer Road about 1.5 miles west of Shands. This section of Gainesville was then known as Milliards Station. Truman died in 1925, Mae in 1922. Ruby taught school in Bell, it was there she met and married my grandfather, Johnie Jamerson. They had 6 sons and one daughter. Ruby was my beloved grandmother who lived love and family! She is my genealogical inspiration! "Nanny Ruby" died in 2000 at the age of 96, she was adored by all 14 grands and 13 great-grands.

      • Rachel Ellen Brock was born in Lake Butler. Her parents were James Albert and Georgiann Boyd Boytt. She married John Lancaster Jameson and moved to Bell. Not long after Rachel married she added the "r" to Jameson. Family legend has it that Jameson was pronounced as if it had an "r" and Rachel was exhausted with the name constantly being misspelled!

    • Ruby Annie Cellon Jamerson
      • This is Ruby's senior picture from Gainesville High School, class of 1922. A boyfriend of hers urged her not to wear her spit curl for her this picture. He told her one day it would look so dated. Obviously, she didn't take his advice and I'm glad she didn't! I think it's adorable and spunky, just like Nanny!
