Bettee V. DeSha says in her history of Waldo, entitled East Side of Eden, that the house in this picture was built by my GG Grandfather, Franklin DeSha (1826-18, the first in-Florida DeSha whose land grant was out on Lake Alto. It was where we went when we came to Waldo. I grew up and moved far away and when I returned with my daughter my Dad drove us to Waldo so that she could see Auntie Mae's house. A year after that it burned to the ground. Here are Auntie Mae and Uncle Arthur on the front steps 1920-something.
